Ingredients
Deseeded dates- 2 cup
Dry figs (anjeer)- 2 cup
Dry fruits (almond, cashews, pistachios) chopped- ¾ to 1 cup
Hazel nut or raisins or cashew nut for stuffing (don’t cut or chop this nut keep it whole )
Desiccated coconut or roasted poppy seeds (khus khus )- 1 tbsp
Cardamom powder- 1 tsp
Preparation Method
Grind the dates coarsely and keep it aside.
Dry roast the chopped nuts on a low flame till you get a nice aroma.
In a bowl mix the roasted dry fruits, coarsely ground dates, cardamom powder and mix it nicely with a spoon.
Grease the modak mould with ghee and stuff it with the dry fruits mixture by keeping the middle portion hollow.
In the centre put raisins or cashew nut and again fill the other half of mould with the mixture. Carefully open the mould as shown in the videos.
Your dry fruit modak is ready. Repeat the process with the remaining mixture.
Sprinkle desiccated coconut or roasted poppy seeds on the modak before offering to the lord.
