Ex MLA Bakila Hukrappa
As an exception to today's politics, here is a former MLA who works as a daily wage employee to earn his bread. He served as Sullia taluk MLA for 19 months, but he has not earned a single penny in his entire political career.
Bakila Hukrappa was elected as a BJP MLA in 1983, ironically his political career have seen downfall, and he changed parties, but did not gained any success. Later he contested for Gram Panchayat but he never tried to earn good money in illegal way.
He lived in his wife's house for 21 years, and recently he constructed a small house, and works as daily wage worker at fields to lead life. "I was not interested in making money in illegal way, and now I am leading life with the help of former MLA's pension. I work in agriculture land to earn money," said Hukrappa.
